(April 16, 1996-Boston,Mass) Outside of the Old South Church I snapped photos of Victoria Duffy and Dennis Hopper’s marriage. Dennis died today.
Here are two of my photos from the scene and a link to more photos at my Herald photo gallery. Of note please see the bottom photo and the fire escape where a Boston firefighter carried a victim down 3 flights.
100-year-old retired Navy Lt. John Finn, the oldest Medal of Honor recipient from World War II, died Thursday. Here is my photo of John at the Massachusetts State House on November 11 at a Veteran’s Day ceremony as Grace Washburn, a Patriot Guard Rider from North Reading, gives him a lift. Obit here from the Herald.
(05/28/03-Boston,MA) Emotion is evident in the Bish and Pryor families during a State House ceremony to commemorate Massachusetts Missing Children’s Day, which actually occurred May 25. Here, as a song played at the end of the ceremony, John and Magi Bish, parents of missing teen lifeguard Molly Bish, hug their daughter Heather and her fiance Matthew Guertin. In back row, reaching to support the Bish family, is Andrew Pryor , father of 9-year-old murder victim Sarah Anne Pryor. Missing Children’s Day is actually on May 25 of each year since 1983, when then President Ronald Regan proclaimed May 25 National Missing Children’s Day . The Molly Bish Foundation can be found here.
I was looking back at my photos of Tom Brady over the years and discovered these vastly different looks. Some photos snapped for the Boston Herald.

Huge waves, associated with a late season Nor’Easter, crash along Winthrop Shore Drive for a second straight day.
Crazy clouds somewhere between Nebraska and Kansas, a passing jet flying “near” the moon and light shining off a Southwest Airlines wing are just some of the things I spotted last night on a sunset flight from Denver to Boston. Yes, seat 13F on a Boeing 737-700, had alot to offer. All photos snapped with a Canon Powershot G-11.
It really is hard to believe that I snapped this photo seven years ago today. The photograph, shot from Charlestown’s Chelsea Street, really resonated with weather lovers and architecture aficionados alike. The storm was part of a line of heavy thunderstorms moving in from Southern Middlesex County. It seemed to fizzle when it reached me, probably due to the influence of the relatively cold ocean water temperatures. I set up a tripod and positioned myself so that I could get the most flattering angle of the bridge. And then I waited. I always get a bit nervous during these storms as one tends to be a vulnerable target next to a large metal tripod. This photograph made the front of the Boston Herald the next day. Shot with a Canon camera and a 70-200mm F2.8 lens.
Just two days after a massive fire destroyed Cambridge’s Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, a worker is seen through the shattered stained glass of the Church at 2 Longfellow Park. He is surveying ways to save the steeple after sunday’s fire devastated the church. Shot with a Canon EOS 1D Mark 111 and a 70-200mm lens.
