The Boeing 787 Dreamliner with Japan Airlines colors and livery markings made it’s inaugural flight from Japan to Boston today. On this foggy day, I snapped photos and captured audio from the Logan air traffic control tower. Here is my slideshow, along with a photo. Please click the words JapanAirlinesBoston link in asterisks, not the photo. Thank you.

My week (9 days actually) in photos.

It was a busy week, from the reaction to the tragic death of Greenland,NH police chief, to the reaction of a heartbroken Dorchester mother who had just lost her daughter in a car crash, to police raids addressing alleged chinatown welfare fraud, to Governor Deval Patrick helping to re-stock Jamaica Pond with fish.

Greenland,NH police officer T. McClare is seen saluting a newly planted American Flag outside of the police department's headquarters just hours after the town's police chief Michael Maloney, was shot and killed. At right, Jeff Andersen, owner of The High Flying Flag Co, lowers some of the flags at his Greenland,NH store, in memory of the chief.

Dawnmarie Hines, the mother of accident victim Samantha Lynne Pinson, receives a hug from a youngster at the scene of the devastating early morning crash that claimed three lives today, April 17, 2012, on Morrissey Boulevard.

Pudge, Dewey and El Tiante. Photographing my childhood heroes.

Dwight Evans, Luis Tiant and Carlton Fisk stopped by John Hancock Co. on Congress St., April 20, 2012, and greeted morning workers arriving for their shifts.  It was neat meeting them. Nice guys.

I caught this P-51 Mustang and F-16 high over the Winter Hill section of Somerville a few minutes before the ceremonial flyover. The pilots, from the Air Force’s Heritage Flight team, based out of Hanscom, seemed to be circling over Somerville in preparation for the flyover. Here are my photos snapped with an 800mm lens.

Boston College priests, Fr. Tony Penna and Fr. Don MacMillan, who had known Franco Garcia, the missing BC student, for four years, offered prayers over his body at the edge of the reservoir that claimed his life. I was positioned on Reservoir road overlooking the tragic scene. Below is my photo. Joining the priests in somber reflection are some of the police and EMS officials who worked this case, along with BC spokesperson Jack Dunn, third from left.
