A few minutes, today, at the Stone Zoo with a baby Gibbon.

I met Paddy, a 7 month old White-Cheeked Gibbon, today at the Stone Zoo, just days after he learned to walk. Please see my photos below and make sure to check out the Boston Herald’s Renee Nadeau’s story in tomorrow’s Sunday Herald.

With mom, Izzy.

I was inside and outside of the courthouse as my colleague, Boston Herald photographer Ted Fitzgerald was inside the courtroom. He was the pool photographer, having to disseminate his photos to those media outlets interested in them. The commotion, just after the verdict was reached, was hot and heavy and, looking back at it today, mostly a blur. Here are some of my photos of the families of the deceased emoting in and out of the court. Very sad day for them, indeed. Please also see the Herald’s fine coverage.

Heavy fire greets a firefighter on a Milton roof.

A few tense moments as this Quincy firefighter was greeted by some blazing heat at yesterday’s 3-alarm fire in Milton at 598 Adams St. Please see my photos below and video shot for the Boston Herald.

The eyes have it. Funny moment from MA 911 Awards in Boston.

As Tanisha Andrade, age 12, and Boston EMS EMT Sara Curry were about to be honored by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ 9-1-1 Awards for helping to deliver Tanisha’s sister Jeilianna Carvalho, the 10 week old opened her eyes very wide. Tanisha was in a car with her mom when her mom went into labor. She was talked through the delivery, over the phone, by Curry. Please see my photo below for the Boston Herald.

My obsession with aviation continues. Those of you who appreciate this, like I do, please have a look. Those who think: “well, it looks like just an airplane to me,” please be patient and wait for my next post 🙂 The following photos were snapped Tuesday night.

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner leaves Boston this morning after a 25 hour visit ahead of it’s inaugural U.S service from Boston to Japan, which begins in April. Photographically speaking, there was lots of “heat haze” that did weird things to the plane when it was over the runway. When it climbed high into the sky, the heat haze vanished. Shot with a Canon 800mm and a 1.4 teleconverter. Given the heat haze problems I faced, I think I will choose to not use the 1.4 teleconverter on similar future endeavors.

The Dreamliner arrived a little after 9am Sunday morning, and Massport authorities threw the newest airliner a party. These photos and a small video (link in RED at bottom) show the arrival.

Busy day for area firefighters.

First, a fire on Glen St. in Somerville  just after 8am, and then an afternoon fire in a home in Newton. The above photo is from Somerville, while the below photos and video link (in red) are from Newton.
