A driver is questioned by a Massachusetts state trooper after the man’s car rode up this barrier at the intersection of Marginal and Washington streets in Chinatown just after 6:45am. This is on the bridge over the Mass Pike.

Here is a short video of Animal Rescue League of Boston personnel, along with City of Boston Animal Control, relocating Boston’s most famous pair of same sex swans, Romeo & Juliet. Anthony Fabiano, a City Animal Control officer and Bill Tanguay and Brian O’Connor of ARL Boston, took only a few minutes to wrap up the two fowl friends. I photographed the magic hour of Monday night’s sunset. To the left of me was the moon and a departing Logan jetliner, and to the right of me was a high altitude transatlantic jet exiting the US east coast. The origin of that flight is unknown, but definitely not Logan.
Boston firefighter Michael Browne, in top photo, checks on an injured Cooper Hawk that caused quite a
scene this afternoon outside of the Langham Hotel on Boston’s Franklin St. The Hawk, at one point, was
perched atop a Langham awning. The Hawk was removed by Boston animal control. See my photos below.
I was photographing the 2nd of 3 deliberately set fires in the Pratt street area of Allston when neighbors pointed firefighters toward another fire that was burning. I ran with the firefighters, the arson squad and Boston police arson detective James Freeman toward the rear of an Ashford street home. Heavy fire was pushing out from the car and starting to ignite the shingles on the side of the structure. My photos below show Detective James Freeman and firefighters stretching hoses to the fire. The last photo shows Jeff Intinarelli, as he checks his totaled, still smoldering car. In all, this morning’s 3 arson fires destroyed a total of 5 cars. This makes a total of 8 deliberate burns in the span of 7 weeks in this small area of Allston. Over 10 cars have been destroyed. Largest Airliner in the World Flies Over Boston After Being An Earthquake Diversion.
by markadmin Posted: Tuesday, 8/23/2011As a Boston Herald photographer, I was covering the evacuations of 3 large Brookline buildings due to possible structural concerns after today’s quake. I looked up, and there she was. A United Arab Emirates Airbus Super 380. That’s right, the double decker jet that can carry nearly 600 people. This was one of the many diverted airplanes from NYC and the Washington DC area due to the earthquake. No further info.
